Matt is a registered patent attorney licensed to practice in Illinois and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He enjoys helping clients secure and maintain protection for their innovations, brands and authored works. He also deals with licensing agreements, domain name disputes and online media issues. Another part of his practice involves the analysis of patent, trademark and copy rights in contemplation of litigation.
Matt received his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2009. While in law school, Matt held leadership positions in several student organizations, including the Student Bar Association and the Intellectual Property Legal Society. During his first summer he externed for the Honorable Philip P. Simon in the Northern District of Indiana. During his third year of law school, Matt was awarded the Joseph M. Barich Excellence in Patent Law Award.
Matt received his B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois College of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2004. While completing his undergraduate degree, Matt worked as a technical intern at Caterpillar Corporation, served as Resident Advisor to Forbes Hall, and served as the Vice President of the National Society of Black Engineers. After completing his undergraduate degree Matt worked as a technical consulting analyst with Accenture.
