Nicole's practice is directed toward all facets of client counseling in patents, trademarks, copyright, and domain name disputes. Her experience includes drafting invalidity opinions, right-to-practice opinions, patentability opinions, patent applications, appeal briefs, and office action responses in a variety of areas including the chemical/biological arts, mechanical arts, and software arts.
Nicole's technical experience covers a range of areas including software, hardware, networking protocols, wireless handheld PDA applications and e-learning.
Nicole joined the firm after receiving a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. While there, Nicole helped design lab experiments in the areas of distillation and magnetic separation for the chemical and petroleum engineering department.
Prior to beginning her legal career, Nicole worked as the Director of Training and Installations for Computerworks of Chicago, Inc., where she implemented software, hardware, website, and networking packages onsite for clients and provided database management support. Additionally, Nicole conducted workshops and gave presentations on software, hardware, networking, and financial applications at national and international meetings and tradeshows.
During law school, Nicole was a technology research assistant and a member of the John Marshall Review of Intellectual Property Law.
