James Kunick has over 14 years of experience representing multi-national clients in a wide variety of technology and corporate transactions, including software, patent and trademark licenses, IT and business processing outsourcing transactions, consulting, strategic alliance and teaming agreements, reseller, distribution and sales representative agreements, confidentiality, employment and subcontracting agreements, governance, co-branding and hosting agreements, assignments, stock option and stock and asset purchase agreements, and providing pre-litigation counseling to clients.
Jim served as Counsel for the Information Technology Practice Group of a large Chicago law firm’s office in Frankfurt, Germany. During his tenure in Germany, he drafted and negotiated IT outsourcing agreements on behalf of the members of an international airline alliance for development and usage of common technology platform, global network services agreements on behalf of the alliance and advised the alliance and member airlines regarding data security/Internet policies and website legal terms.
He also drafted and negotiated license, sales, distribution and employment/subcontracting agreements for an international manufacturer of Compliance Packaging technology, development agreements between a German aircraft parts manufacturer and U.S. defense contractors, marketing, license and distribution agreements for a German software encryption vendor and related reseller and end user licenses; stock option and stock purchase agreement for the German aircraft parts manufacturer client’s acquisition of US component parts supplier.
